Live from Nashville!!

A Message from the Marketing Manager, Pam:

We are coming to you today live from the Robin Robin's Marketing Manager Training session in Nashville, TN!

I flew down to Nashville last night to attend Robin's Marketing Manager Training. After attending her Boot Camp back in April, I realized that she had a ton of advice for those of us who are in Marketing Manager positions, and she was offering us the opportunity to come down to Nashville to spend two days with her in a small group setting; it was a pretty easy decision to book my ticket!

Marketing is a broad topic; it is taking TONS of detail and getting it working with consistency. In our world today, there are so may ways to reach people: direct mail, web, email, social media - where do you begin? Or perhaps have your hand in every aspect? What do we do? Well, a little of everything. We are trying to reach our audience in ways that are comfortable and normal for them.

Our culture is geared to getting everything, NOW. With the touch of a button or the click of a mouse, we can download or get our hands on pretty much any type of information that we want. Between smart phones and laptops, immediate gratification is here to stay. But, is this the best attitude to have in your professional life or business? Well, I say no; immediate gratification is pipe dream in the professional world. Business success, and success in marketing does not come over night. Successful marketing takes patience, consistency, and super time management skills. If you have tried something once, be it an advertisement, a direct mail campaign, etc, once is not enough - try it 5 or 10 times before you really figure out what works the best!

The technology industry is always changing, always advancing, and always becoming quicker and smarter. As marketers, we need to stay ahead of the curve; we need to do the grunt work, the research, the reading and networking to stay current, and really need to focus in on your target market and what their needs and wants are.

Trust me, I don't have all of the answers, but I can tell you that what I have learned, both from my experience thus far, and my training with Robing Robins, is that marketers need to be motivated (always!), consistent (always!), and be willing to be that person that gets up an hour earlier, works an hour later, and reads a little more, in order to be great! Sounds like quite a bit to digest, right? Well, we can do it together.

Keep checking back this weekend for more updates from my training here in Nashville, and check out our website for more information!
