Five Years Later: Twitter Not Going Anywhere

The social phenomenon, Twitter, was born five years ago! It's hard to believe that it has grown as quickly as it has in such a short time. In those five short years, the number of users has grown to 200 million, and those 200 million users are sending about 140 million tweets every day.

Of course, Twitter has become a part of pop culture, and many are using it to keep in touch with friends, follow celebrities and promote personal brands. On the business side, social media marketing has become increasingly popular, and allows businesses to reach a much broader network of individuals in a much more cost efficient way. Twitter offers businesses an easy way to share information on the web, allowing them to position themselves as an industry expert to their followers. Small and large businesses alike are using Twitter to reach their followers about events, promotions and updates.

Another advantage for businesses is the "safe" arena in which followers feel that they can leave feedback, and businesses can speak directly with their followers almost instantly! This communication and marketing tool can also direct users right back to your website, and make them feel like they are a part of a very hands-on, responsive system.
